Andrea and Dylan Jones show off their zombie response vehicle with their parrot, Sam.

If the zombie apocalypse is real, Dylan Jones is ready.

His car – an old police vehicle that still has the grid in the back seat – is decked out with “Zombie Response” written on the side and bars in the back windows.

Jones started decorating the car as a joke with a few zombie-related decals about two months ago. But as the car gained popularity online, Jones added more to the car.

He was contacted by 556 Tactical LLC, a Louisiana-based company that builds tactical assault rifles. The company gave him free decals to put on the car to help market the company and it posted some photos of the zombie car online.

While the vehicle looks like it would be an expensive joke, Jones said he spent only about $12 on the project. He had the car for a number of years and he did all the work on it.

Jones is an auto body technician by trade and works as a cook at the Strater Hotel.

His next project? Jones and his wife, Andrea, say they are going to make her beat-up car a “skull car.”
