For the first time all season, Durango youth football had a losing record.
Durango went 2-3 last weekend around the Youth American Football League, with the fourth-grade Durango Colts and the fifth-grade Durango Patriots picking up the two YAFL victories in Week 5.
The second-grade Durango Demons lost 21-7 to the Bloomfield Bobcats. Beau Brunson scored the Demons’ only touchdown.
The third-grade Durango Dolphins lost 25-7 to the Farmington Bandits. Douglas Malcom scored the Dolphins’ only touchdown.
The Colts shut out the Pagosa Pirates 34-0 on Saturday in Pagosa Springs.
Jordan Woolverton had a rushing touchdown, a passing touchdown and two extra points. Gage Mestas caught a touchdown pass, and Haezen Mestas ran for a touchdown and caught an extra point from Cal Walsh, who had two rushing touchdowns of his own.
The Patriots shut out the Bloomfield Bobcats 33-0.
Everett Howland had three rushing touchdowns in the victory, and Brayton Jackson and Joe Arnwine rushed for one each.
Bayfield blanked the sixth-grade 49ers 26-0.
Only the second-grade Demons will host this weekend: Farmington, 3 p.m. Saturday at Durango High School.
