‘Exposed to toxic weedkillers without consent’

My dogs and I like to hike on the paved trail in the Three Springs area. When we arrived on Tuesday for our daily hike, I noticed a worker applying Roundup to the thistle along the trail. This is a problem because my dogs like to stick their noses in everything and Roundup is highly toxic.

It is known to cause cancer and other health problems. Thankfully, I saw them spraying and can avoid hiking in the area for a while until the spray dissipates.

On the Roundup website, it says that pets can return to a Roundup-applied area after it dries. This implies that it is dangerous for pets when it’s actually applied. We should be informed when pesticides are applied so we can make the decision whether or not to expose ourselves and our pets to these toxins.

It is a shame that right now, our friends and family members –and their dogs – are being exposed to these toxic weedkillers, without their consent.
