Durango native Tad Elliott and multi-Olympians and fellow locals Lanny and Tracy Barnes are holding a preseason rally and fundraising event from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. today in the Underground Room at the Irish Embassy Pub. There will be cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, a short presentation by the three international athletes and a silent auction. The event is a fundraiser to help the three Durangoans pay for their extensive travel schedule this winter while competing on the World Cup biathlon (Barnes’) and Nordic (Elliott) circuits.
