Holiday window display winners named

These are the winners of the 2012 Holiday Window Display Competition, sponsored by the Durango Business Improvement District: Affordable Framing, Animas Trading, April’s Garden, Artesano’s, Beads and Beyond, Gloss, No Place Like Home, Ore House, Pet Haus and Tippy Canoe.

BID presents each winner with a $50 gift card to a downtown restaurant. Judging was held on Noel Night, Nov. 30.

Electric association offers kilowatt donations

La Plata Electric Association offers to people the opportunity to provide a credit on electric bills through its Gift Program. Arrangements also can be made to assist nonprofit organizations by applying credit to their LPEA accounts.

Gifts can be made at LPEA offices in Durango or Pagosa Springs during regular business hours, call 247-5786 or mail a check to “LPEA Gift Program, P.O. Box 2750, Durango, CO, 81302. Donors need to specify the name of the LPEA member resident or nonprofit organization and the account address (or LPEA account number, if available). LPEA will notify recipients of the donation, though gifts can be made anonymously.

Jamie’s Fine Jewelry announces relocation

Jamie’s Fine Jewelry has relocated to 125 E. 10th St., up the hill from Olde Tymers Café.

Owner Jamie Lister has been in the jewelry business for more than 20 years. She offers a full line of diamond and colored-stone engagement rings. Lister also welcomes custom jobs and jewelry repair.

Physical therapy business announces hire

Advantage Physical Therapy & Wellness, 3600 Main Ave., Suite A, announces the addition of Jessica Garcia to its team.

Garcia grew up in Denver and previously lived in Durango. She started as a caregiver when she was 18 and has been a certified nursing assistant since returning to Durango nine years ago. She also has a degree in cosmetology.
