Ignacio resident Tamera Jean King died from complications of several medical conditions Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012, at her home. She was 47.

Mrs. King was born to Lanny and Barbara Williams on June 26, 1965, in Wheat Ridge. She attended Clear Creek Secondary School in Idaho Springs.

Mrs. King was a beautician at Rita’s Salon in the Durango Mall.

She “enjoyed styling hair and making people feel good about themselves,” her family said.

She loved to cook, sew and quilt. She enjoyed spending time with her Chihuahuas and her Great Dane. She was an avid reader of cookbooks and enjoyed testing her new creations for her family.

Her son-in-law, Terron Pascoe, helped take care of her in recent years.

“She loved being a mom,” her daughter, Trista Pascoe, said.

Mrs. King is survived by her husband of 15 years, J.D. King, of Ignacio; daughter, Trista Pascoe, of Ignacio; stepsons Jason King and Steven King, both of Ignacio; mother, Barbara Williams, of Ignacio; sister, Terri Witcher, of Ignacio; numerous nieces and nephews; and a great-niece and great-nephew.
