Stay dry, and worship online

Roads icy? Sidewalks slick?

But it’s Christmas Eve, and you always goes to church, no matter what.

As snow fell Monday, First United Methodist Church of Durango didn’t want people who were concerned about travel risks to miss the service. So staff members videotaped the Christmas Eve-Eve service, which was held Sunday evening for people who couldn’t attend Monday, and the church is streaming it on its website.

“It’s identical to the services we’ll have (Monday),” said church secretary Angie Raulston, “except for the children’s services, when Pastor Jeff (Huber) will be dressed as a shepherd.”

The service is available at www.fumcdurango.org by clicking on “The Latest Sermon.” The sermon’s title is “This Shall Be a Sign Unto You.”
