Businesses’ events benefit Adaptive Sports

Two exceptional local businesses have made significant efforts to support the Adaptive Sports Association. Gardenswartz Outdoors/Sporting Goods and Keller Williams Realty SW Associates both selected ASA to benefit from large recent community focused events.

In November, Gardenswartz held its famous Extravaganza at the La Plata County Fairgrounds. Adaptive Sports was invited to receive voluntary entry donations at the door. Those dollars were then generously matched by the sporting goods business. This is the fifth consecutive year during which this fantastic event has supported programming at ASA for folks with disabilities.

In December, Keller Williams Realty SW Associates selected Adaptive Sports and Elks Homeless Veterans Programs to benefit from their Denim and Diamonds client appreciation party. The realty associates not only planned, organized and staffed the successful event, they covered all associated costs. So 100 percent of the dollars raised that evening went directly to the beneficiaries.

Both of these events drew donations directly from community members. The result was almost $12,000 raised in donations to Adaptive Sports Association, Durango’s sports and recreation program for individuals with disabilities. Those dollars will certainly have a significant affect this winter.

We are deeply appreciative and overwhelmed with the thoughtful generosity of Keller Williams Realty and Gardenswartz.
