Former Ignacio resident Manuel Myore Jr., died Monday, Dec. 31, 2012, in Lawrence, Mass. He was two weeks shy of his 37th birthday. The cause of death was not disclosed.
Mr. Myore was born to Joyce and Manuel Myore Sr., on Jan. 14, 1976, in Roosevelt, Utah. He grew up in Ignacio and attended Ignacio schools. Mr. Myore went on to earn his GED diploma in Ignacio.
He attended technical school in Phoenix and earned a degree in graphic arts and computer animation. Mr. Myore held various jobs throughout the area, and he also participated in the Rolling Deep Car Club chapter in Ignacio.
He met Samantha Harmon, and they were married in Niagara Falls, N.Y., in 2001. The couple moved to the Mesa, Ariz., area for a few years, then to Utah and back to Ignacio, but had recently moved to Massachusetts.
Mr. Myore was an enrolled member of the Ute Mountain Ute Indian Tribe.
He enjoyed all sports and particularly enjoyed watching his children play their sports. He was a fan of the Denver Broncos.
Mr. Myore is survived by his wife of 12 years, Samantha Myore of North Reading, Mass.; sons Manuel Richard Myore, Roo Myore and Trevor Brown Myore, all of North Reading; mother and stepfather, Joyce and Vernon Frost of Ignacio; father, Manuel Myore Sr., of Roosevelt; brothers Devon Frost and Cameron Frost, both of Ignacio, and Theron John Myore of Roosevelt; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and other extended family members.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. today, Jan. 8, 2013, at Hood Mortuary Chapel, 1261 East Third Ave. in Durango. A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, at the Southern Ute Multi-Purpose Room, 258 Ute Road in Ignacio. Burial will occur at the Ouray Memorial Cemetery in Ignacio.
