Durango resident Ronald W. Loudenburg died unexpectedly Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013, at his home. He was 11 days shy of his 45th birthday. The cause of death is undetermined at this time.
Known as “Ron,” he was the youngest of three children and was born to Gerald “Gerry” and Karen (Brown) Loudenburg on Jan. 21, 1968, in Midland, Mich. He grew up in Arvada.
In 1989, he married Suzette Vague in Durango.
Mr. Loudenburg graduated from San Juan Vo-Tech, and in May 1994, began working as a diesel mechanic at Wagner Equipment Co. in Durango. He was recently promoted to branch service coordinator.
He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, and was an avid Denver Broncos and Colorado Avalanche fan. Mr. Loudenburg also became a self-taught gourmet cook and enjoyed preparing elaborate meals for holidays and family gatherings, his family said.
Mr. Loudenburg is survived by his wife of 24 years, Suzette Loudenburg, of Durango; sons Darren Loudenburg of Ignacio and Kurtis Loudenburg of Moore, Okla.; mother, Karen Brown Walson, of Wallace, N.C.; father, Gerald Loudenburg, of Durango; sister, Kristine Carr, of Paris, Va.; brother, Eric “Rick” Loudenburg, of Broomfield; and three grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013, at the First United Methodist Church of Durango, 2917 Aspen Drive. A celebration of life will take place afterward at his father’s home in Durango.
