I am pleased that the concept of arming teachers was defeated in the Colorado Senate Judiciary Committee.

Teaching is stressful – has anyone considered the possibility that a teacher will crack, pull out his or her gun and shoot up the classroom? Is it 100 percent impossible that a student would not be able to have access to a teacher’s weapon?

I am in favor of banning assault weapons, limiting cartridges to 10 bullets and all gun purchases to require a thorough background check.
