Purgatory’s final Locals Day to benefit The Garden Project

The final Locals Benefit Day at Durango Mountain Resort will benefit nonprofit The Garden Project of Southwest Colorado.

Discounted lift tickets can be purchased Sunday – with a coupon – for $40 (adults), $32 (seniors/young adults) and $25 (children). Coupons are available in The Durango Telegraph or online at www.durangotelegraph.com or www.thegardenprojectswcoloradol.org.

The Garden Project plans to use its proceeds to enhance and increase the garden program at Needham Elementary and Manna Soup Kitchen.

Nordic Center at Purgatory to host qualifiers for Juniors

The Durango Nordic Ski Club and the Durango Winter Sports Foundation are hosting the Nordic Divisional Championships this weekend at the Nordic Center at Purgatory.

There will be two qualifiers for the U.S. Junior National Team – freestyle sprints from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and distance races at 9 a.m. Sunday. The divisional champions will be crowned at 1 p.m. Sunday.
