McLachlan a Marine who won’t be saluted

Firearms expert and author, John Lott, who testified at the Colorado gun-ban hearings, said the Obama administration, including Joe Biden, were calling state Democratic legislators threatening that if the they didn’t vote for the Colorado gun-control bills, Obama would support other candidates for their seats during the next election cycle. If these same legislators did vote for the bills, Obama would come out and campaign for them.

We have two Democratic former U.S. Marines in the State Legislature. One, Rep. Leroy Garcia, D-Pueblo, stood strong against this blatant bribe by the White House and voted against the gun bans proposed by the Democrats. He took his oath of office and took his promise to uphold the constitution (state and national) seriously, and said, “You will not destroy the lives of Coloradoans. You will not take away their jobs. You will not harm citizens of this state – not on my watch! “

Another Marine, however, caved to the carrot-and-stick bribe offered by Obama and voted for the gun bans. Rep. Mike McLachlan, D-Durango, caved and probably will destroy the lives of more than 400 families who will lose their jobs, their income and their hope for the future.

He turned his back on the people of Colorado and the Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, which he swore to uphold.

We wonder if McLachlan forgets what “semper fi” means? Did he substitute his lust for a future legislative position ahead of the people he was supposed to serve?

Marines are honorable men and women who willingly stand against those who would harm this country and its people. Now that votes have been cast, we know which Marine we salute and thank for his service, and it isn’t McLachlan.
