Pagosa Springs resident Carlie June Brown died Tuesday, March 5, 2013, in Pagosa Springs. She was 2˝. The cause of death was complications of a chromosome disorder called 1p36 deletion syndrome.
Carlie was born to Dr. Robert and Jennifer Brown on May 25, 2010, in Pagosa Springs.
“She brought smiles and gave hugs to everyone she met,” her family said. “She had many challenges in her short life and never gave up trying to overcome each and every one. She will be terribly missed, but we are very proud of all she accomplished, especially the enrichment she brought to our lives. All of her family feels honored to be entrusted with her care.”
Carlie is survived by her parents, Dr. Robert and Jennifer Brown of Pagosa Springs; siblings Amanda Brown, Will Brown and Karina Brown, all of Pagosa Springs; grandparents Bill and MJ Brown of Graham, Texas, and John and Susan Guthrie of Sedalia; great-grandmother Mary Wilcox of Denver; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 8, 2013, at the Community United Methodist Church, 434 Lewis St., in Pagosa Springs. Visitation will take place at 9 a.m. before the service at the church.
