Psychics consulted in search for skier

ASPEN The family of a missing skier is consulting with psychics to help guide search efforts by the ski patrol and volunteers at Aspen Highlands ski resort.

A search for the third consecutive day Tuesday failed to lead to the discovery of Jeff Walker, 55, of Aspen.

The Pitkin County Sheriffs Office and Mountain Rescue Aspen suspended their search at the end of the day Monday, but the Aspen Highlands ski patrol said it will continue to look for Walker.

Weve got some strong feelings that hes still alive, said Liz Sathe, Walkers girlfriend.

She said Walkers family consulted with three psychics after intensive search efforts Sunday and Monday failed to yield any clues about Walkers whereabouts.

Sathe said information from the psychics about the type of terrain where Walker might be was provided to Aspen Skiing Co. for the search Tuesday, which was centered around the last ski lift where Walker checked in.

Ski company spokesman Jeff Hanle said the patrol is taking every lead seriously.

The search was expanded to the out-of-bounds areas on the Maroon Bowl side of the ski area Wednesday.

Walkers last known location was a scan of his ski pass at the base chairlift last Thursday, authorities said. He was reported missing Saturday evening.

The search has included eight teams of search dogs, a helicopter and dozens of volunteers in addition to authorities.
