Chamber to host Tuesday Talk April 2

The Durango Chamber of Commerce will host “Tuesday Talk” at 7:45 a.m. April 2 at Carver Brewing Co., 1022 Main Ave.

The event provides time to network and meet informally with other small-business owners, chamber staff members and board of directors to discuss topics of interest and relevance. Coffee will be free. Reservations are required.

Gayle Webster joins Coldwell Banker

Coldwell Banker Heritage House Realtors announces the addition of Gayle Webster to its team.

Webster attended Northeastern University in Boston where she studied business. Halfway through her college career she transferred to Fort Lewis College to study art, graduating with a degree in photography and design. Webster focuses on technology and smart marketing to give her clients an edge in the ever-changing market.

Homebuyer-education classes available

The Regional Housing Alliance of La Plata County will offer these free monthly Homebuyer Education classes at Fort Lewis College:

5:30 to 8:30 p.m. May 8.

8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. May 11.

5:30 to 8:30 p.m. June 11.

8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. June 15.

The class is an eight-hour program designed to help participants purchase and own a home. Topics include: buyer readiness, budget and financial management, credit reports and scoring, mortgage lending, working with a Realtor, homeowners insurance, home inspections, the closing process, home maintenance and foreclosure prevention. The class is facilitated by the alliance with contributions from local professionals. Registration is required.
