The Fort Lewis College women’s soccer recruiting class added another feather in its 2013 cap last week, adding Keisha Green of Cedar Ridge High School in Round Rock, Texas, to the fold.
Green brings versatility to the Skyhawks, who missed the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2008 despite a 13-4-3 record last year. She played center back, outside midfielder and forward last year for the Raiders and helped Cedar Ridge win the 2009 Texas DI state championship.
“Not only is she an excellent student, but she will add to an already potent and accomplished crew of attacking players,” FLC head coach Damian Clarke said in a news release.
“We expect Keisha to play forward, but she could also play at center back or in a wide midfield position. She is a player with a very athletic build capable of blowing by opposition and being quite physical while doing so.”
Green is one of seven players to sign on FLC’s dotted line of late. Green joins Lonestar Soccer Club teammate Haleigh Macomb along with Carolyn Archer, Shannon Harpham, Ana Moran, Courtney Riley and Kirsten Ryan in this year’s recruiting class.
Riley is the younger sister of current FLC women’s soccer player and defender Lauren Riley.
The Skyhawks lost just three players to graduation last year – midfielders Elena Benavides and Serena Mancha and defender Rachael Budagher.
