Former Durango resident Donald I. Tinker died Sunday, March 24, 2013, at his home in Longmont. He was 74.
Mr. Tinker was born to John and Helen Tinker on Nov. 8, 1938, in Durango. He grew up in Durango and graduated from Durango High School in 1956.
Mr. Tinker drove overland and long-haul truck routes his entire career.
On Feb. 7, 1959, he married Judy M. Sauck in Aztec.
The Tinker family moved from Durango to Longmont 44 years ago.
He was a member of the American Legion and the Moose International Lodge in Longmont.
Mr. Tinker was preceded in death by his daughter, Lila Tinker; and son Walter Tinker.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Judy Sauck, of Longmont; sons Robin Tinker of Eckley, Thomas Tinker of Longmont and John Tinker of Hasting, Neb.; and one grandson.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 30, 2013, at Hood Mortuary, 1261 East Third Ave. Burial will take place afterward at Florida Cemetery in Durango, near the intersection of county roads 225 and 228.
