Colo. doesn’t allow us to stand our ground

So far, we in Colorado have no duty to retreat in the face of a threat to our physical well-being. So far.

If one were to run from a mountain lion, one could expect to be pursued, run down and eaten. To turn one’s back on a physical threat from another human is to invite the same, and for the same reasons.

Would any reader wish to turn over his rationale for failing to retreat to Eric Holder, Angela Corey or any other prosecutor?

Or, for that matter, his rationale for the amount of force used in self-defense? Can you imagine them giving you a fair shake?

Review the recent case in Florida and place yourself in the situation. And think: expert witness. Because in Colorado, the self-defense claim requires you to personally prove your case to the jury.
