Rep. Scott Tipton, R-Cortez, will be in Durango today and Wednesday for a number of events, including a financial-services and housing-business roundtable.
At the roundtable, he will meet with community representatives from the banking, real estate and title insurance industries about the impact of regulations and pending legislation on their ability to create jobs.
His schedule in Durango includes the following:
Tour of Durango-La Plata County Airport from 10 to 11:15 a.m. today. Tipton will meet with Director of Aviation Kip Turner and other airport staff for an airport tour and an update on future expansion plans.
Financial Services and Housing Roundtable from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. today at First National Bank of Durango, 259 West 9th St. He will lead a roundtable discussion on how regulations and legislation are impacting the banking, real estate and title insurance industries in Southwest Colorado.
Tipton will speak at the Durango Rotary Club from 7 to 8 a.m. Wednesday at the Durango Community Recreation Center, 2700 Main Ave.
