Central gets revenge at DHS

Demons’ girls soccer loses a pair on its home-opening weekend

Grand Junction Central avenged an earlier loss to the Durango High School girls soccer team with a 3-2 win Saturday at Riverview Sports Complex.

Statistics weren’t immediately available.

It was the second consecutive loss for DHS (2-3-2, 2-3-2 Southwestern League), both in the Demons’ home-opening weekend. The Demons haven’t won since their 4-0 triumph over Central (4-4, 2-4 SWL) on March 14.

It doesn’t get any easier for DHS in its next game.

The Demons will travel to undefeated Palisade at 11 a.m. Saturday for their first nonconference game of the season.
