I first want to congratulate the 2014 U.S.Open Women’s Champion Michelle Wie on winning on that unforgiving Pinehurst No. 2 course last weekend.
While we have seen our share of eroding press about the women’s tour, this was just what was needed to bring the tour back into the spotlight.
And, how about Juli Inkster?
They say this might be her final Open, as she certainly distinguished herself with a gutsy performance.
Columbine Classic Duet
We have tons of results to bring you this week, and we begin with the Columbine Classic Duet, which was contested on both Dalton Ranch and the Glacier Club courses June 18-19.
There were three countries represented at this event – England, the Netherlands and the United States, eight states, 22 cities and 26 different golf clubs.
But, most remarkable was the fact that $22,000 was raised by donations to go to the capital campaign for the Manna Soup Kitchen.

The Choker, one of the long-standing events at Dalton Ranch Golf Club, will be contested starting at 8 a.m. Friday
We also need to preview the Animas Capital Management, Ltd.-Ryder Cup Format tournament, which will be played on the Hillcrest Golf Club course July 5-6.
There is $500 in prize money and an entry fee of $50 per person.
This also is one of the many events which qualify the top money winners for the season-finale Shootout on October 4th.
There are a series of 9-hole mini-formats encompassing this Ryder Cup format including alternate shot, best ball, scramble and team total.
