The Durango High School track and field team got off to a strong start at the Arcadia Invitational on Friday in Los Angeles, the first of two days of competition in L.A.
Gabi Razma finished sixth in the girls triple jump at 36 feet, 9.25 inches, which furthers her own school record set this year in Bayfield.
Lillianna Hebert of California High School (San Ramon, Calif.) came in first with a jump of 38-4.5.
Alli Davis came in 15th place in the girls long jump at 16-8.75.
Destiny Longmire from Rancho Verde High School (Moreno Valley, Calif.) won the event at 19 feet even.
The Demons’ boys 4x800-meter relay team of Trent Andrews, Joe Crawford, Alastair McMillan and Garrett Mulkey finished 12th out of 18 teams in the invitational category, which is the highest rated, at 8 minutes, 10.2 seconds.
Rocky Mountain High School (Meridian, Idaho) won the event in 7:44.92.
The boys 1,600-meter sprint medley relay team of Andrews, Shane Bisogno, Devin Lewis and David Moenning finished seventh out of eight teams in the rated category at 3:41.91.
Paramount High School (Paramount, Calif.) won the event in 3:30.01.
