The Durango High School baseball team has celebrated a lot of home runs in recent weeks. The Demons have belted seven home runs this season, including six in their last three games. “These guys have been hitting like this for two years. They can all swing a good stick,” DHS head coach Rob Coddington said after a 16-9 win against Fruita Monument on Saturday, when brothers Blake and Casey Dunlap each hit home runs. The Demons (6-6, 2-4 Southwestern League) will hope to keep the strong hitting going against non-conference foe Delta (11-1, 7-1 Western Slope League) at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Walden Memorial Field.
