Maximize local energy resources

It is very exciting to learn about all the renewable-energy programs available and coming online locally. It is also somewhat disconcerting to realize we have not yet achieved that success on the larger wholesale production scales. I am excited about the energy-production opportunities available on a local level, especially by the local Native American nations.

Energy production by almost every source, coal, wind, solar, hydro and nuclear energy is available to these nations located nearby. For example, uranium is readily available locally; local facilities for processing ore are already available or can be easily built; a vast, isolated site for waste disposal exist; tsunami and other danger-free sites for nuclear power plants abound both on and off reservation.

It is time for the Four Corners to take its place in the total energy production picture.
