A&E Happenings April 25-May 1

Torment over the Canyon: Lightning strikes the rim of the Grand Canyon near the confluence of the Colorado River and the Little Colorado River, by Adam Schallau. Substratum Gallery will host an exhibit of three photographers whose work highlights the Colorado Plateau. “These artists lend their skill and knowledge as well as the heart of their artistic vision to the creation of prints highlighting the powerful beauty of today’s fine art, photographic print. ‘Astheno-Litho’ is one of the exhibits that inspired the creation of Substratum Gallery to begin with,” gallery owners said. The exhibit will feature the works of Adam Schallau, of Flagstaff, Ariz.; Guy Tal, of Torrey, Utah; and Kit Frost, of Durango. An opening reception will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Substratum, 1021½ Main Ave. Local musician Ace Revel, from Hello Dollface, will perform. The exhibit will be on display through May 26.
