No. 16 Ponderosa beat No. 17 Durango 2-1 on Wednesday night in Parker in the first round of the CHSAA Class 4A Girls Soccer State Championships.
The game was tied 1-1 at halftime, and Ponderosa scored a second-half goal to advance at the state tournament.

Ponderosa (9-6-1) will play No. 1 Cheyenne Mountain on Saturday in the second round of the state tournament.
Top-seeded Cheyenne Mountain advanced with an 8-0 shutout Wednesday over No. 32 Woodland Park.
