Durango sets record low of 22

Durango reached a record low early Wednesday morning when temperatures fell to 22 degrees.

The previous record low was set in 1942 when the temperature dipped to 24 degrees, said Nolan Doesken, state climatologist at Colorado State University.

A warming trend is forecast later this week.

“We will stay dry for the remainder of the coming week with temperatures reaching upper 70s for the weekend,” said Norv Larson with the National Weather Service in Grand Junction.
