Free transit service available Saturday

Ride around town for free Saturday.

The San Juan Basin Health Department is sponsoring free rides on Durango Transit. It’s an initiative to encourage residents to consider alternative transportation and cost-saving methods to commute or travel in Durango.

The loop bus system, which is usually $1 per trip, has six routes. The Opportunity Bus is a door-to-door service for the elderly and disabled. The Main Avenue Trolley, which runs from the center of the downtown historic district to the Iron Horse Inn on the north end of town, is always free.

For the schedule and routes, visit getarounddurango.com or call 259-5438.
