Durango Public Library customers can now use their phone to checkout materials. Customers can use mobile applications such as KeyRing, CardStar, and Smart Barcodes to store their library card number and then display it when checking out. This new feature can be used at the Library Information Desk.

KeyRing, CardStar and Smart Barcodes are apps that store loyalty cards on iPhone or Android smartphones. Phone users can download them for free.

The library staff recommends people read terms and conditions before downloading an app on their phone, a news release said. For more information, call the library at 375-3380.
