Evan Buchanan, vice president of operations for the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad & Museum, flags down Engine No. 480 at Eighth Street and Narrow Gauge Avenue on Thursday afternoon after Durango Fire Protection District and Durango Police Department cordoned off the area because of a gas leak caused by a contractor who hit an Atmos Energy service line. Passengers on the train disembarked and walked around the cordoned-off area back to the station. Atmos said the leak was capped by 6:30 p.m.
