River lessons

More than a dozen students and a pair of teachers from Tarrant County College in Fort Worth, Texas, stopped along the banks of the Animas River on Wednesday. After a visit to the Durango Fish Hatchery, the students were measuring river flow and velocity near the railroad bridge. The class’ 15-day wilderness education trip is taking the students through the Four Corners.
