Plastic bags could reduce bear population

Wow! Now I know a new usage of the “nondamaging” plastic bags: Bear Food (“Bear scat says a lot about where they dine,” Letters, Herald, July 29.)

Since the “nondamaging” plastic bag usage was approved, we can keep throwing them away, and the bears can ingest them, and then they will not get any nutrition. This will be a great way to reduce the bear population. Or just maybe people could use the cloth reusable shopping bags? Just a suggestion.
