Mountain Studies Institute is presenting the 1993 environmental film “Once Upon a Forest” Sunday as a prelude to the Southwest Old Growth Forest Conference that runs Monday and Tuesday at Fort Lewis College.
The animated film will be shown at 7 p.m. in the Smiley Building auditorium. Doors will open at 6 p.m. Food from Turtle Lake Refuge, drinks and alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase.
A panel discussion by forest experts about the connections between the film, which deals with a rain forest, and old-growth forests, will follow the film.
Tickets are $10 in advance, available at Pine Needle Mountaineering, 835 Main Ave., or $12 at the door. Proceeds benefit Mountain Studies Institute.
