Expect more lane closures

Bleary-eyed start to Highway 550/160 intersection work

The following are Colorado Department of Transportation projects that will affect motorists in Southwest Colorado for the week beginning Monday.

As work winds up at the DoubleTree Hotel interchange, northbound lanes of Camino del Rio from the intersection to Santa Rita Park will be closed for several hours starting at 6 a.m. today. Alternate routes are advised. This work is weather-dependent.

Evening work after 6:30 p.m. is anticipated all week.

Expect median and single-lane closures and two-lane shifts throughout the week in all directions during nonpeak travel time from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., after 6:30 p.m. weekdays and anytime during the weekend.

There will be intermittent and minimal interruptions from the U.S. Highway 550/160 intersection to Ninth Street to finalize striping and install signs.

On Highway 160 from Tech Center Drive to the 550/160 intersection, expect lane, median and turn-lane closures westbound at any time; expect single-lane closures eastbound during nonpeak travel time from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., after 6:30 p.m. weekdays and anytime during the weekend.

There will be single-lane alternating traffic on Red Mountain Pass from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. from Monday through Thursday. The work of building up or reinforcing shoulders will take place from mile post 80 to mile post 87.
