Montrose stymies DHS

Demons play at Fruita Monument next

Montrose threw a wrench into the scoring machine of the Durango boys soccer team.

Brayden Reese scored in the first half for the Indians, and it held up in a 1-0 game.

DHS (5-2-1, 0-1 Southwestern League) was shut out for the second time in three games after scoring at least four goals in four out of its first five games of the season.

Montrose (5-1, 2-0 SWL) was ranked No. 9 in the Colorado High School Activities Association Class 4A poll.

The Demons have a quick turnaround for their next game. They play Fruita Monument at 11 a.m. Saturday in Fruita.
