Metro State wins RMAC No. 1

Kim of CSU-Pueblo medals at the women’s golf tournament

For the first time in its program history, Metro State won a golf tournament.

For the second time in its program history, Fort Lewis College finished a women’s golf tournament.

Metro State won the first Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference women’s golf tournament of the season with a 311-304–615 team total, while FLC finished last of 13 teams at 391-337–728.

Regis finished second, 13 strokes behind Metro State after the two-day tournament at Raccoon Creek Golf Course in Littleton.

CSU-Pueblo (633), Adams State (637) and UC-Colorado Springs (641) rounded out the top five, respectively.

Hee-Leina Kim of CSU-Pueblo was medalist with a 67-73–140, 4-under par at the par-72, 6,054-yard golf course, the only player under par.

Cha Cha Willhoite of Metro State finished runner-up, 11 strokes behind Kim.

Kelsey Thompson and Nicole Hulbert of Regis finished third (152) and fourth (153), respectively.

Lauren Trujillo of FLC tied for 61st at 97-97–194, and Lindsey Blythe of FLC tied for 67th at 100-115–215.

Myranda Crawford of FLC finished 70th at 116-125–241.

Jessica Thulson, who opened with a 6-over par 78 on Monday, did not play Tuesday.

Colorado Mesa and Montana State-Billings tied for sixth at 648.

Western New Mexico (658), host Colorado Christian (681), Black Hills State (699), Chadron State (706) and South Dakota Mines (732) finished eighth through 12th, respectively.
