Local VA clinic provides excellent care

Southwest Colorado veterans should feel lucky and fortunate to have such a high-quality medical facility as the Veterans Affairs Community Clinic. Veterans come here from all over Southwest Colorado: from Dove Creek, Pagosa Springs, Silverton, Ignacio, Mancos and Cortez and all points in between. The doctors, nurses and administrative staff are second to none. While the clinic is small, it does have a total staff of 12 personnel who do annual physicals and minor medical procedures. They do not have emergency room equipment and personnel, so if necessary, veterans are directed to an emergency room of their choosing. If a veteran has a condition that needs additional medical care, they will receive an appointment at the VA hospital in Albuquerque. If they are unable to drive themselves to the VA hospital, they can arrange transport with the Disabled American Veterans van by calling (970) 422-0149. I have personally found the Durango VA clinic to provide excellent medical care for many years.
