Durango Herald to have new look, content

Bennett

Dear Durango Herald readers:

In the past year since I began as CEO of Ballantine Communications, I’ve come to understand our deep commitment to bring our subscribers the highest quality of journalism. Our partnership with you, in this effort, is our priority. Like most newspapers, our production costs are increasing. To counteract this, we’ve chosen to revise our format, so that we can continue to deliver the same high-quality product without transferring the rise in costs to you.

Starting Thursday, you’ll notice The Durango Herald page width will appear thinner by 1 inch while the size in length remains the same. This size modification may be smaller, but at the same time, we are increasing the amount and quality of the content. An immediate improvement you’ll see is the addition of The Washington Post News Service with Bloomberg News. Starting next week, you can read articles from The Washington Post’s prize-winning journalists reporting news from the U.S. capital and the world. Our classified advertising is improved, as well, with a lower base price and easier navigation.

We appreciate your support through this transition, and you can be assured we will continue to deliver the best quality every day.

Thank you,

Doug Bennett
