Streaks, Stats & Notes

It’s only the sixth time in NFL history that teams from the previous Super Bowl have met in the next regular season. Three teams that won the Super Bowl won the rematch the next season; the only losses were the Vikings beating the Chiefs 27-10 to open the 1970 season and the Bills beating the Cowboys in Week 2 of the 1993 season.

The last Super Bowl rematch came in 1997 when the Packers beat the Patriots.

The Broncos are seeking their 13th 3-0 start in franchise history; they have missed the playoffs three of the last five times after starting 3-0.

The Broncos have 14 players that aren’t on the roster from the Super Bowl and have nine new starters on defense.

Peyton Manning needs three touchdown passes to join Brett Favre as the only quarterbacks in NFL history with 500 career touchdowns. Manning needs two touchdown passes for 100 with the Broncos.

After getting 23 carries in the opener, running back Montee Ball only had 12 carries against the Chiefs, but he averaged 5.0 yards per rush.

Julius Thomas has four touchdown catches, which is tied for the most by a tight end to begin the season since 1970.

Left tackle Ryan Clady and defensive end Von Miller both were injured last season and did not play in the Super Bowl.

Defensive end DeMarcus Ware has four sacks in his last four games against Seattle.

Linebacker Brandon Marshall leads the Broncos with 17 tackles, and he had his first career sack last week.

The Seahawks have won 18 of their last 19 at home, playoffs included.

The Seahawks lost last week by more than seven points for the first time since Week 9 of the 2011 season in a 23-13 loss at Dallas.

In his career against AFC teams, Russell Wilson has 18 touchdown passes, three interceptions and a quarterback rating of 109.4.

Running back Marshawn Lynch only had six carries against San Diego, which tied for his fewest carries since joining Seattle in 2010.

After getting 11 offensive touches in the season opener, wide receiver Percy Harvin had his hands on the ball only three times last week, including a disputed 51-yard touchdown run.

The Seahawks are last in the NFL in third-down defense through two weeks, allowing a 55.2-percent conversion rate.

Linebacker Bobby Wagner has 24 tackles in two games, the second most in the NFL.

Cornerback Richard Sherman has nine interceptions in his last 13 home games.
