DHS leads FLC in Grand Junction

Dixie State has medalist and team title

Led by Durango High School alumnae Myranda Crawford and Jessica Thulson, the Fort Lewis College Skyhawks’ first-year women’s golf program finished 17th out of 17 teams at the RMAC No. 2 on Monday and Tuesday at Bookcliff Country Club in Grand Junction.

Thulson shot 82-89–171 to tie for 47th overall.

Crawford shot 100-107–207 to tie for 88th overall.

Haley Dunn of Dixie State shot 74-75–149 for 5-over par to win medalist honors, three strokes ahead of Ashley Bartholomew of Angelo State and four strokes ahead of Hee-Leina Kim and Julie Sanchez of CSU-Pueblo and Cha Cha Willhoite of Metro State.

Dixie State shot a 629, 53-over par to win the second Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference tournament of the fall season.

Metro State finished second, five strokes back.

Angelo State finished third, six strokes back.

Also for FLC, Lauren Trujillo shot a 208, Lindsey Blythe shot a 221, and Jordyn Bonney shot a 237.

FLC will finish its fall season Oct. 6-7 at the West Texas A&M Invitational in Canyon, Texas.
