Bayfield High School dominated the net in a 3-0 (25-21, 25-12, 25-16) sweep of Centauri on Friday in La Jara.
“Centauri was ready for us. They passed us pretty well,” BHS head coach Terene Foutz said. “Ultimately, they couldn’t keep up with our net game. I was grateful to see everyone on our side of the net pick it up.”
Kirstie Hillyer led the Wolverines with five solo blocks and 18 kills.
Caitlyn Phelps had seven aces and six kills for BHS.
“Caitlyn had her best night of the season,” Foutz said. “Effective all around.”
Suzie Rhodes kept the Wolverines’ offense humming with 34 assists.
BHS (16-2, 7-0 Intermountain League) will play its final IML game of the season at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in Alamosa.
The Wolverines are assured of the IML championship with a two-game lead over second-place Pagosa Springs with one match left.
