I lived in La Plata County all my life, and I have known Duke Schirard since the mid-’70s. I was the town clerk of Bayfield when Duke became the Bayfield marshal. I know from personal experience that he did an outstanding job as marshal, and I believe he has continued that exemplary job as our sheriff in La Plata County. As marshal, Duke always managed a very frugal budget and stayed within its limits. Duke will provide the best law enforcement and what is needed for this community without overspending his budget.

I encourage everyone to get out and vote and to vote to keep Duke Schirard as our sheriff.
