Vega to bring folk vibe to Durango

Suzanne Vega will play a show in Durango on Thursday.

Singer-songwriter Suzanne Vega, who’s quiet neo-folk style is exemplified in songs like “Tom’s Diner” and “Luka,” will play a concert at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Community Concert Hall at Fort Lewis College, 1000 Rim Drive.

Vega, who shot to fame in the late ‘80s before becoming a Lilith Fair staple, released a new album, “Tales from the Realm of the Queen of Pentacles,” in February.

Opening the show will be roots-rock folk duo The Lindells, who have been performing together in the American West for more than three decades.

Tickets the show start at $26 and are available at www.durangoconcerts.com, by calling 247-7657 or in person at the Durango Welcome Center at the corner of Eighth Street and Main Avenue.
