FLC beats winless Western State in 5

Skyhawks will host CSU-Pueblo on Saturday at Whalen Gym

Fort Lewis College greeted the winless Western State Mountaineers on Friday night to Whalen Gymnasium as one might expect: with a 25-10 victory in Game 1 and a 25-19 victory in Game 2.

Western State (0-17, 0-13 RMAC) didn’t go down without a fight, though.

The Mountaineers, behind Jordan Eatwell’s match-high 24 kills, won Game 3 25-22 and Game 4 25-23.

FLC rebounded with a 15-12 victory in Game 5 to finish the 3-2 victory.

Western State took FLC to five Oct. 3 in Gunnison, too.

Ashley Wells led FLC with 16 kills. She had 12 digs, too.

Mallory Dill had 12 kills and Madi Bickle had 10 for FLC.

Heather Danny and Ciara Krening both finished with 23 assists for FLC, and Ally Dell’Amico led the Skyhawks with 25 digs.

FLC (6-15, 3-10 RMAC) will host CSU-Pueblo at 7 p.m. Saturday at Whalen Gym.
