Got weed? Time to feed.
Kassidy’s Kitchen in Bodo Industrial Park is capitalizing on new traffic to the first recreational marijuana shop in Durango, which also happens to be up the block from his restaurant.
Restaurant owners Keith “Kassidy” Byington and his wife, Cheryl, were watching the expansion of Durango Organics and Wellness Center closely, hoping it would boost business.
Monday, Keith Byington put out the restaurant’s first fun sign and expects to put out more after seeing many passers-by stop to take photographs.
“I have been joking about it for a while,” he said.
But the restaurant has been benefitting from the expanded traffic since Durango Organics opened in late September.
As a result, Kassidy’s Kitchen, which serves Mexican and American food, will be open on Saturdays for the first time starting Nov. 1.
Byington expects interest in the shop will level out much like the liquor industry.
But he is grateful for the new business.
“Every day, I think I get somebody from there,” he said.
