There’s no doubt the nation is watching what Colorado voters do in this election.

Because The Durango Herald’s Denver Bureau Staff Writer Peter Marcus has been following the election closely and writing about it frequently, “PBS NewsHour” has asked him to comment on the too-close-to-call gubernatorial and senatorial races.

Marcus is scheduled to be interviewed by NewsHour senior correspondent Hari Sreenivasan via Skype at 6:26 p.m. today for about three minutes.

According to associate producer Matt Loffman, the show is interested in “the developments and stories you’re seeing on the ground in Colorado today, state of the race, any surprises ... .”

Why choose a reporter from a small daily in Southwest Colorado rather than one of the big circulation dailies on the Front Range?

“Good question,” Loffman said. “I don’t know, but he’s either the only reporter from Colorado or one of two we’ll be interviewing.”
