Area reservoir levels stay mostly unchanged

Lemon Reservoir has seen some water level gain in recent months.

Rain or shine, reservoir levels in Southwest Colorado for the most part haven’t changed much, Bureau of Reclamation releases show.

Lemon Reservoir did see some gain. It was 35 percent full at the end of August, 39 percent full a month later and 52 percent full at the end of October.

Vallecito Reservoir has filled a little, from 60 percent full on Aug. 31, down to 55 percent on Sept. 30 and up to 70 percent on Oct. 31.

Navajo Reservoir registered 64 percent full for all three periods.

Jackson Gulch Reservoir percentages were 32, 32 and 37; McPhee Reservoir registered 53, 49 and 49.

Lake Nighthorse, which is filled from the Animas River, remains 99 percent full. There will be no change until Animas-La Plata Project partners start to withdraw water.
