Election results may have a silver lining

Here’s how to get elected in America. Just block every bill and don’t get anything done. Don’t offer any new ideas and just complain. Shut down the government, vote more than 50 times to repeal a bill that you know the president will veto anyway. Go home early on recess while Ebola and immigration needs attention. Let that nonpartisan immigration bill that both the GOP and the Democrats agreed on just sit without a GOP vote for over a year, but blame the president for all of these problems.

If I taught and reinforced such bad habits with my kids, or even my dog, I’d have the worst kids and dog in the world. But yet, we just did this with the most unproductive GOP government that has ever existed. Why?

When Democratic voters get really fed up, sometimes they react by not voting at all, just so sick and tired of it all and don’t get out. Every Democrat I know just didn’t get out and vote. Well, you get what you work, or don’t work, for.

Here’s a glimmer of hope: Now, the extreme right tea party cannot hold out any longer to get their way, to get a GOP majority vote. So they have just become powerless! The GOP can get a majority without those crazy tea baggers. You’ve got to see the good in the bad, the silver lining!
