Durango: frigid, but luckier than ghost-riddled Liberty Hill

Durango is bracingly cold and blindingly bright.

To scholars, the sun particularly is a mixed blessing.

Elvis Presley said, “Truth is like the sun. You can shut it out for a time, but it ain’t going away.”

But Serbian mechanical engineer Nikola Tesla said, “Modern science says: ‘The sun is the past, the earth is the present, the moon is the future.’ From an incandescent mass we have originated, and into a frozen mass we shall turn. Merciless is the law of nature, and rapidly and irresistibly we are drawn to our doom.”

Until this disagreement is resolved, Durangoans should wear sunscreen.

According to the National Weather Service in Grand Junction, today will be, “Sunny, with a high near 47. South southwest wind around 5 mph,” while tonight should be, “clear, with a low around 16. South wind around 5 mph becoming north northeast after midnight.”

Meanwhile, in Liberty Hill, Texas, which is enjoying a meteor shower despite its perennial ghost problems, the temperature is also 45 and partly cloudy.
